How To Add Your Blog URL To Google Webmaster Tools


Adding your blog URL to Google webmaster tool or Google Search Console will help you blog rank high in Google and generate pure traffic from Google. It will also make google crawl your blog url when a person search a Post on Google and the same post is on your blog. Before successfully adding your blog URL to Google webmaster tool or Google Search console, you must make sure the domain is yours and registered by you and you must have access to it anytime.

This post is just teaching you how to set up an SEO on your new blog so as to rank well on Google Search engines. It the dream of all bloggers to get their pages crawled by search engines which will increase their page views in their blogging dashboards or stats. 

Before going boarding the ship to adding URL to Google webmaster tool or Google Search console, you need below requirements.

Gmail used in creating a blogger blog 
Domain Registrar Log ins 

How To Add Your Blog URL To Google Webmaster Tools

1. Sign in to webmasters tools home page with your gmail account. On that same page, you will get a welcome message and will be required to fill in your blog or site url. So input your blog URL in the space provided, and click "Add A Property"


2. The next page, you will be asked to verify the ownership of the blog or site url. I.e for Google to confirm it is yours. Now select your domain registrar site e.g mine is Godaddy. Then click "Verify"


3. Now you will be asked to confirm access. That is Google is requesting the permission to Change the DNS for your website URL. Here, click "Accept" button.


4. After accepting, you will be taken to a new page where you will be required to provide your Godaddy account details, so that google will scrutinize the account to check if the domain was registers by you. Therefore, fill in your Godaddy log in details.

Note : If someone got the domain for you, request the log in details from that same person because without it, you won't be able to verify your website.

5. If log in details is correct, the next page will display you a status horizontal progressing icon of Google verifying your site ownership.


6. Now your domain or url has been verified, now click continue.



Finally, you have added your site to Google Searche console whuch will make google crawl your blog posts.
